I’ve been playing for decades and have seen a lot of floobydust about improving the felts most of us use on our cymbals stands and hi hat stands.I bought a few different sizes including the hi hat set and tried them out and there’s no denying they are allowing the cymbal to be undamped enough to hear what the cymbal really sounds like….there’s more top end in the cymbals response and slower decay and it’s resonating better……it’s not just the decay though as this would not be noticeable in a live situation, only in a studio environment. My experience is the cymbal sounds just a bit crisper and it’s even more noticeable when using the ones for the hi hat.If your satisfied with your sound now, then you need go no further, but if you’ve experienced sonic differences when your cymbals are on different stands/felts, etc, you will be doing yourself a favor by trying these in your setup…my hat stand stands and cymbal stands are now set up with these and I’m happy to have them.

Cympads are pretty dense and have been an upgrade from felt or wool pads. I’ve only been using them for about 6 months now but so far they have retained their shape. I also believe that especially under the microphones all my cymbals and in particular my ride rings a little longer and sounds less dampened. I’m using the 15mm for the bottom pad and the 12mm for the top pad. I do wish the 12mm has more color options than just black but I would have probably selected black anyway so it’s not really an issue.

More consistent and durable than felt. I can't say I have noticed any dramatic changes in timbre or sound quality. Just a cleaner and more professional look.
