When I was on the hunt for a new pair of D1S bulbs for my Mercedes-Benz, I initially settled on a set of Osram Original D1S 66140 bulbs. I tried those for about a week (about 10 hours of use total) and was very happy with the light output and color, but then came across this set and thought I’d give them a try due to the “long life” aspect of these bulbs. I figured since the Osram Original 66140 set was still relatively new, I’d be able to compare the two sets back to back to see if there are any differences. So far, it seems like this long life set has almost the same brightness as the Osram Original D1S, but with a slightly warmer color temperature. I wouldn’t say it’s a drastic difference between the two, but this set of bulbs does seem a bit warmer in color temperature and slightly brighter looking down the road than the Original 66140 D1S. I'd say the Osram Original set is approx. 4500K, while this "Ultra Long Life" set is slightly warmer at 4300K. Again - not a huge difference. (Both sets of bulbs were tested without them being fully "broken in" yet, so please keep that in mind here)Most newer vehicles these days are equipped with LEDs at about a 6000K / 6500K color temperature. I find that while the “cooler white” looks more modern and is decent on a dark country back road with no street lights, it’s harder to see the road during a rain storm or bad weather. My eyes prefer the warmer color temperature of 4300K, and that’s exactly what this set delivers - pure warm/natural white leaning more toward the yellow color spectrum (the color will probably shift a bit as time goes on and the bulbs break in).I’ve installed this set in a Mercedes GL Class, and included two photos shot with an iPhone camera in manual mode to try and capture exactly how the light output looks in person.Overall, I’m extremely satisfied with this set of bulbs, and will be keeping the Osram Original set as a spare. I’ll update this review as time goes on if any issues arise regarding lifespan. Highly recommended if you’re in the market for new Xenon HID bulbs and are a fan of a pure 4300K color temperature!

Tras la pelea que todas las marcas parecen querer generar para los cambios de bombillas xenon (bmw aun gracias que pone una trampilla medio útil en el paso de rueda), concretamente de 1 hora, montada y funcionando sin problema. El color parece idéntico, o casi, a la Philips original.Durabilidad.... pues ya se verá. Mientras aguante hasta que venda el coche en unos meses me vale XD.

One of the lamps failed after 3 months. I returned the lamp to Osram Australia according to the instructions on their website. The package was returned by Australia post so there must be an issue with the address. I contacted Osram Germany and only got an automated reply. So far no response in 2 weeks. These lamps cost a lot of money and come with a 10 year guarantee, but is useless if you can't action a warrantee claim.

I bought this 2.5 years ago and it is definitely worth the price. The color and brightness is very good. I can easily look into the distance with these HIB lights.Don’t get fooled into reading giant sized numbers on cheap $30 HIDs. They are just made up numbers. Osram is the real deal, they really make good quality products.
