This griddle looked great, but only lasted about six months despite limited usage by only one user. In month five, the plug in heating control just stopped working. The knob would not move to 0 degrees, nor would it turn all the way to 400 degrees. Thankfully I was not making pancakes for guests that day! But the griddle is now totally unusable! I tried calling the customer service number, but there is no way to reach a customer service representative, despite multiple attempts. There is no griddle shown on the products page, and calling just results in a repetitive process of asking for customer service, and then receiving the same recorded message over and over again. What a bad way to treat a customer! Not only are we terribly unhappy with the product, but we are extremely unhappy with the way we are being treated in regard to this product's very poor performance!

I was replacing a very old grill, this one is nice and easy to clean. I found the warming tray to be useless. Hot grease did cause a melting spot on the grease tray, but nothing major, still useable.

I got this because it was supposed to heat evenly. I disagree. It’s very uneven to me. It’s larger than I thought and doesn’t fit in my standard cabinet depth. I have to hand wash carefully as it is all one unit. I ended up using my old griddle.

OK I bought mine from target and I have had other Oster griddles in the past...I loved our old one until it died...10+ years of consistency. Now this wonderful train wreck has come into our lives and after cooking 1 batch of bacon and a batch of pancakes we are returning it....Oster take notes. While cooking the bacon the piece next the the power plug was cooking 2x maybe even 3x faster then anywhere else. This meant a had burnt bacon with partly translucent bacon on the far side of the griddle...yes that much of a fluctuation. And after I unloaded the sad remains of what was supposed to be a yummy bacon Christmas Breakfast I still had to clean the griddle so I could do the pancakes. After draining the Grease tray I realized that where the Grease initially touched the surface of the tray; it actually melted the plastic… meaning that this plastic cannot withstand the temperatures of grease from bacon. Also bacon grease plattered in between the plastic parts that make up the handles...since this griddle doesn't fully come apart that was a major concern. After poring my first batch of pancakes the same issues arose. Inconsistent heat and some burt and some raw pancakes. There are massive gaps between when the griddle shuts down it's heat and it coming back up... the surface which is the ONLY success with this product was a joy to cook on. Both burnt and raw food came off with ease. Next time Oster make sure you still make a good griddle...instead of just selling the surface of a griddle...
