Used this puller/installer on a 2001 Chevy S10 4.3L V6 harmonic balancer replacement and it had all of the correct bolts/adapters to make the job a breeze! I used grease on the threads to ease the removal/installation. Would recommend to anyone. Works much nicer than the cheaper 3 finger type pullers.

Great Value if you just want a bunch of bolts!! For 200 bucks I would at least expect it to last more the 1 use. As you can see from the pics, same thing happened to me as other reviewers, the main part of the tool is the weakest link. Please save yourself the stress, leave this tool here and never look at it again. YOU'RE WELCOME.

The tool broke the first time I used it on 2006 Chevy Malibu. The puller body which is one piece of metal with internal thread broke in to two parts. LOL. What kind of materials do they use to make this tool. The upper side of bearing also cracked. The first time it took over a month to replace one part. The second time they requested that I ship the broken part back to them even though I emailed them pictures. Since I purchased the tool, I have been unable to use it. Warranty is kind of useless if the tool continues to break and it takes over a month to replace each part. This tool is made in Taiwan. The warranty is only for the original purchaser of the tool and it isn't transferable. LOL.

This worked great for pulling the harmonic balancer from my 1999 F-250 7.3 Diesel. I also used it to install the crank seal. It worked flawlessly. I agree with another user that it would have been nice if the bolts were stainless, but to be honest they don't need to be. Having used many of these over the years, this is the nicest one I have used and it made the job go so smoothly.

I was so excited to get this puller set! It was an OTC branded set and I was willing to pay extra for the brand. I got it quickly, saw that it was shipped from Bosch Automotive, so I couldn't wait to open the box!Upon opening the very nice case, I immediately saw where the milled slots in the primary component (the puller itself) looked kind of sloppy. The ends of some of the slots appear to have been milled offset slightly from the slots, and whatever tool was used to do the machine work was in really rough shape. At first, I thought I had received a used item, but the nasty finish on the slot ends was fully coated by the puller finish, so it had to have come from the manufacturer that way. While I have no doubt that the tool would do a fine job pulling, there really isn't any excuse for this poorly machined puller to have made it out of the factory. The no-name pullers we have at work come out with nicely machined surfaces, not gouged out like this OTC part. The OTC puller set costs twice what the no-name pullers do, but perhaps they're all made on the same production line. OTC set goes back and I'll get a no-name set for half the price.

Judging from the other reviewers I have to suspect I received a defective unit. On my first use and without a ridiculous amount of force, the flange section broke away from the nut. I am returning the unit.Given the ease with which the unit snapped, I certainly cannot recommend it.You can see in the pictures that the metal should be thick enough to withstand considerable pressure (much more than I could ever apply) but it looks like poor quality steel was used.

I have a 2006 Mazda MPV with the Ford 3.0 liter engine. This tool allowed me to pull the harmonic balancer and install it after I changed the oil seal without any problems. This is a high quality tool. A little on the pricey side but still reasonable. Just wish it was made in the USA instead. I gave it five stars because it did what it was supposed to do without problems. Added pictures...one if for pulling the harmonic balancer and the other is for installing it after oil seal replacement.

Was received in a respectful time given that i had multiple items. As for item; it is exactly what I wanted. Had a hell of a time finding anything remotely close to it locally in the big city but all others didnt have as many accessories and additional pieces for additional applications .

Saved my butt twice already. Heavy duty & well built. Well worth the money. Just yanked a rusty harmonic balancer off a Ford 3.0 V6 OHV (Vulcan) that broke a Harbor Freight puller in half. I had forgot I bought this thing 2 years ago, so I used that cheap puller at first. Having the ability to also INSTALL the balancer makes it that much more valuable. Will save you some pounding with a hammer, and possibly save the aggravation of stripped crank threads. Many different sized bolts and fittings come with it that'll fit just about every car on the road today. VERY happy I had this thing for this job!!

I bought this OTC 4531 Harmonic Balancer Puller and Installer Set as I had a stubborn damper on an IH 345 block that broke my old one trying to remove it. Well let me tell you this unit took it right off with no problems and looks to be heavy duty and will hopefully last a life time. It looks much more heavy duty than those cheap ones usually sold at auto parts stores and comes with a full array of bolts and adapters to fit more than one vehicle.

This is a well designed tool that made easy work of removing and installing the harmonic balancer on my Jeep. The wide range of thread adapters that were included in this set was what sold me on it. Hopefully I'll never use itenough to be able to comment on its long term durability but for the price, right now I'm happy to have it in my tool box.
