A string broke while putting it on the bass. It wasn't even at the correct tension. Send back for a refund. Received two weeks ago, no refund.

If you've looked for a set of flats for a 6-string bass, you already know how hard they are to find. I'd seen plenty of good reviews for these strings when I was looking at a set for my 4-string, and preferring a lower tension feel they sounded like they fitted the bill for me. I'd seen plenty of comments about being 'too low tension', and about how this might affect the B-string, but I can say that from my experience they feel fine!I switched to them from some Elixir strings, and in terms of tension they didn't feel a million miles apart. The B-String in particular feels totally normal, not as loose as some people suggested it might (as a side note, the B also looks massive). For feel, they're amazing! I've used the GHS Precision flats on one of my other basses and I do prefer the feel of these in comparison. Tonally they're on another level too. Across the board, from the B to the C, they're much more balanced, and have a nice richness and warmth while still having that flat wound sound.I had to make a minor setup tweak, but this was just adjusting the height of the saddles slightly. I assume it's due to the neck being fairly stable as standard, but I didn't need to adjust the truss rod at all. From seeing reviews elsewhere, these strings should last a long, long time, so for the price they seem like a great investment too.

I bought these strings for fretless acoustic bass, and they sound grate. I don't have any cons so if you need good strings don't hesitate.

I have never found a better set of strings. In my case I put them on a 35" scale Schecter.

After reading all of the other reviews, I wondered if these strings would live up to the hype, and they did! I've got these on a fretless Tobias Classic 6 that I've had for 23 years, and just couldn't find a set of strings for it that I was happy with. I resisted flatwounds because I was expecting the high-tension feel and thuddy response of the other brands I had tried, These are slinky and feel great, but have plenty enough bite and growl when you dig in. They are expensive by comparison, but if they even last half as long as other reviewers have mentioned they will be a bargain.

Unfortunately the quality control was not up to snuff on this product. The high string unwound far before reaching the proper tension. I boiled my old strings and threw them back on.

Very meaty sound for flats... have a bit of a round wound tinge to them. I'm very pleased. Worth the money in my view.

expensive but SO worth it - never heard such resonance and clarity. still not as bright sounding as roundwounds, but clear tonal center and the greatest resonance I've EVER heard on a low B - you know how sometimes it can be hard to get a low B to register clearly on a tuner? not with these guys. can't recommend them highly enough for jazz playing. like butter under my fingers...

Converted an Ibanez sr506 to fretless and wacked these babys on,Blown away by the sound and "mwah" on every string, including the bloody huge b string!Great for slapping and tapping alike,Very chuffed with them, just hoping they'll last as long as people say!#One year update#They still sound amazing. Perhaps even better than last year. I play my fretless about 2/3 hours a day and these don't seem to be wearing out at all, still loads of mwah and enough zing with some added treble for artificial harmonics! Boss!

I have a 6 string fretless with a unfinished rosewood fingerboard and not only does these strings sound good but they feel good. My bass plays wonderfully. I was told they can last up to a year without you having to change strings. These are great strings!
