2 years later and this protector still holds up but my iPad and screen is dirty on the inside, dirt (and water) get in where the Home Screen button hole is and I need to clean it repeatedly. The screen protector is not waterproof and even splashing a bit of water on this will make it so the screen detects the water and not your finger and you have to remove the whole case wipe it clean and put it back together which is NOT as difficult as other reviews say it is but is still a little annoying

We really like this case for our hyperactive boy. It can withstand him tossing it around, climbing over it, etc. one of the corners finally broke off after being abused for so long so we purchased again! Highly recommend if you have crazy children and want to save your iPad.

Arrived without a box or instructions. Yahoo has several articles about installing the iPad but not clearly relevant to this case. On yahoo arrows are mentioned identifying the release points. But on this case there are no arrows. Possible release points are very difficult to release needing a flathead screwdriver to move them. The force required may danage the case so I discarded it unopened and bought a cheaper case from another supplier. The clear plastic screen protector appears unfit for purpose.

Bought a new one for my son because his old was worn out after 2.5y. Only upon swapping the Otterboxes, I noticed how much damage the old Otterbox had caused to the casing and even glass of the iPad. The inside of the Otterbox has sharp edges and glue to keep the Otterbox's clear plastic cover in place. After a while this will cause a large amount scratches and spots on your iPad !

I've used OtterBox Defender Series cases on all of my phones and I was always very impressed with protection that it provided to my phones. Every one of my phones look like new when they were removed from the cases (and I keep my phones for at least 5 years before getting a new one).This OtterBox Defender Series case is for a 9th generation 10.2" iPad that I just purchased. The OtterBox case comes with a protective screen on the top section of the case, so, no installation of a protective film is not necessary. Once the iPad is safely encased in the OtterBox (go to YouTube and find a video to show you how to open the OtterBox case because I needed to go there to find out how to separate the top from the bottom of the OtterBox Case because there are no instructions included with the case) you will notice just how completely protected the iPad is. included is a secondary cover that you can put your OtterBox protected iPad into (with the screen facing down into the cover which snaps into place. Use this cover whenever you're transporting your iPad anywhere or when traveling. There is a handy place to store a pen if you have one with your iPad. Some people may say that this Defender Series case is a bit overkill in how it protects the iPad, however, I plan on keeping this iPad for a long time and I feel that this case gives me the peace of mind that it is secure and safe from whatever incidents will happen in life to damage it.
