One word..Boring! You will be better off with a Yamaha 5C, which sound better for both classical and Jazz and a lot cheaper. I prefer Jazz tones....don’t get me wrong you can get a nice Jazz tone but your going to do a little more lip work, just not worth the juice for the squeeze. Quality is inline. Some of my reed set up Vandoren ZZ 2.5 V16 2.5, Rico select 3 and La Voz cool jazz 2.5( this is an amazing reed, good luck trying to find them.) The best reed sound is the LA Voz cool jazz pretty much on all my mouthpiece set ups, its the for sure thing for my intonations. So aside from the reeds the Ottolink #7 sit best for classical concert players and not for the faint at heart. It produces a deep dark sound. Not for beginners. I would price this at a solid $35 bucks...it is not worth $100 buck!

Otto Link's reputation has taken a hit in the recent decade, with accusations of shoddy mouthpieces and lacking QA, but the unit I received works great. It lines up perfectly with the reed, providing a nice, tight seal. It has a brighter sound than I expected, I'm used to the tone of a Yamaha 6C, but that has no bearing on the quality. If you're looking for a hard rubber mouthpiece at a decent price, give this one a try.

I picked up one of these after trying about eight different mouthpieces (Meyer, Selmer etc) and ended up finding that his particular mouthpiece offered the tone I was looking for at a reasonable cost. It's flexible enough to be adapted to most any type of music which was a major decision while purchasing.
