I have a couple of backpacks that I really like, but do have have sternum straps. When I am carrying a good amount of weight or going to be walking around for a while, a sternum strap does a lot to reduce fatigue and increase comfort. I hate walking around or sometimes running with a bag that just has too much slack and constantly bounces or dangles around. These straps really get the job done to reduce that.It is very quick to install and still has a simple design. I got another set of straps in the past that attached via a claw that snapped shut. It was definitely not as good of a method of attachment and it would fall off when doing strenuous activity which irked me. I have not had that issue with these straps. Highly recommend!

You can't really go wrong at this price point. I have a lightweight backpack from AER that I use as a photography bag and when it is loaded I kind of wish I had a sternum strap. Well this works really well. I thought I could connect them to the webbing that form lines down the center of my shoulder straps, but they are not tight enough to the straps so they pull in a weird way. So I ended up looping these all the way around the straps and that feels good.There is way more strap than you need. I kind of wish they included a matching elastic on each side to hold the excess webbing. I am thinking about cutting some of it off and burning the ends. I am not sure what to do with the d-shaped rings, but they look alright and they are not in the way. Sometimes I hang my sunglasses off of one.I got the green one and while it does not match my backpack perfectly, it is a nice green and it compliments my bag well enough. I almost got the neon green so that it would stand out, but I ended up going the more modest route.The clasp is nothing special but seems solid and smooth enough.
