This thing is genius. I had one of these a few years ago and fell in love and so I got this one new this year and it doesn’t disappoint. We have used it not only to have the pool pump on a timer and turn off during the day but also a bug zapper we have on our back patio that doesn’t have an off and on switch. I will purchasing another one of these for the top deck that has our plug in string lights so I don’t have to worry about plugging and unplugging anymore.

I found the instructions for this somewhat confusing, and I consider myself pretty capable withy dealing with digital device instructions. It literally took me four or five attempts to get it to go on and off at the times I wanted. I needed to set it for when we were away and I got it for indoor uses.It did work well when it finally was set correctly, but the old fashioned timers worked just as well without frustration. The big plus here would be that it has many variations, but I can't imagine how long it would take to set it for each of seven days. Overkill for what I needed. I have two other outdoor timers that are so much easier to use.

The Foallser Outdoor Light Timer Dual Outlet instructions are not the best to follow. There are many different options on how to set this timer up. They can be somewhat confusing. They need to have longer or break out the categories more in the instructions. After several trial and errors in getting the correct timing schedule, the outlet has worked great for my pool pump. My prior pool pump for my outdoor pool had a timer built into it, but when I had to replace it, the new pump didn't have a timer. My outlet is on the screen porch that does not experience any rain, so I can't say how weatherproof this is, but no issues with outdoor temperatures.

This timer has a lot going for it. It can be set in an automatic dusk to dawn mode or programmed for up to seven days. The fact that it has battery backup and a daylight savings time adjustment means you may not have to reset or program it again after a power outage or twice a year with the daylight savings time change. Additionally, the random function can have the attached item turn off between 1 to12 hours later, which is important if you are away for a while and do not want lights going off at the same time each day which could be an indication that you are not home. It can be mounted and the dual outlets allow more items to be controlled. However, I found it complicated and confusing to program. I have been unable so far to find a way to have lights turn on and off twice in a day for every day of the week which is what I want. Others may have an easier time with the programing but it has been difficult for me.

I recently upgraded my above ground pool filter and it didn't come with a timer, this thing was just what I needed.The build quality something of a weak point. It's plastic and feels very light and hollow. That said, the cable has a nice solid rubber coasting and feels heavy duty. The body says it is rated at IP55 which means it should be resistant to dust and some light water spray. The included instructions state it is only meant to be used indoors (even as they call the product an 'outdoor timer') so that does concern me for its longevity, but I imagine this is just a liability thing in case someone sprays the timer with water and fries it. I keep it in a covered corner on my patio and it rarely rains where I'm at but we'll see how it holds up after a few weeks.The controls are clearly marked, the buttons feel like nice rubber and have a satisfying click to them, the directions are all pretty clear. It's got some pretty cool features around its photocell sensor that allow you to set it to kick on or off when the sun comes up or goes down, then set how long it will go before it automatically shuts off. These features really make this timer what it is to me, it's basically exactly what I needed to take full control of my pool's filtration, and seems reliable enough to be truly set and forget.The build is a little lacking in ruggedness but the function and the price more than make up for it. If you live somewhere where it rains a lot or there's a lot of ambient moisture then I could see this 'outdoor timer' only being rated for indoor use being a huge detriment but for my dry California bones it's a solid little slice of peace of mind as I sip a mai tai in my nicely filtered pool.

This timer has an incredible amount of options and capabilities, including some sort of battery backup (doesn't indicate how long it will last, but good to have if you have a power hiccup or short power outage).It's a 7 day 16 program timer that offers not only DST function, but also offers mixing using the photocell with a program, so you can have it go on at dusk and turn off at 11 p.m. for example, use it dusk to dawn and vice-versa.The programs for the days even offers: MWF, M-Su, M-Sa, Each day individually, Tu-Th etc., quite the list of options.You'll need to read the instructions pretty carefully for how you want to program it and while this may seem a lot, it's because it can do a lot, so take your time. Pretty impressive, best I've had.Specs. say it can handle 1875W which is very high, most are 1500W. However, I wouldn't try to use it on a heater for safety reasons ( heaters use a lot of wattage 1500+)If using outside I would recommend a clear bowl (I use cheap clear glass bowls) as while it's rated for "outdoor" usage, that doesn't mean they can handle get rained or or sitting in water, so best to cover it with something clear and with some weight. (I've had several "outdoor" timers that weren't water tight and died/got wet inside so lesson learned)Please see photos.Recommended for so may options and DST ability (not automatic)
