Ovation Celebrity Standard Plus CS24P-NBM, Mid-Depth Cutaway, Nutmeg Burled Maple
The Celebrity Standard Plus series is your first step into the world of Ovation, with select figured tops, beautiful abalone appointments and first-rate sound, features and value. The Celebrity Standard CS24P-NBM guitar has the classic mid-depth Lyrachord cutaway body with a handsome burled maple top featuring quartersawn scalloped “X” bracing. We reviewed earlier Ovation bracing patterns extensively to arrive at this remarkable new design, which borrows from the past and is voiced for the present with natural tone and optimal response and power. Together, body and top create the classic Ovation sound, resonating with full projection, remarkable note clarity and balance, and nuanced tonal complexity. The burled maple top also has an elegant abalone rosette, ivory white binding and beautiful Nutmeg gloss finish.
CS24P-NBM Front Detail 1 Detail 2 Headstock OP-4BT Preamp OvationOther premium features include an effortlessly playable neck with a natural satin finish and rosewood-veneer headstock, 20-fret bound rosewood fretboard with abalone microdot inlays, and a rosewood bridge. For great live sound, the CS24P-NBM features an Ovation Slimline pickup and OP-4BT preamp system with three-band EQ, volume/gain control, onboard tuner and low battery light.

I’ve really enjoyed this guitar. It stays in tune better and longer than any other guitar I’ve owned. The sound is great for a variety of genres. What I like most is how sturdy it feels, thanks to its composite construction. The workmanship is excellent. While this may be a lower-end model, it’s still perfect for my needs.

Guitar is beautiful and sounds great but after about month of consistent playing the strings started to buzz badly and I needed to adjust the truss rod. Would like to put light strings on it but I'm afraid the buzz will return. Overall it is a nice guitar but it has its issues.

This was a very nice surprise! Great string action and intonation. The plugged in sound was good too. (comparing to the American legend I had.) The aesthetics are quite nice too. The burled maple is quite attractive. It sounds pretty good acoustically as well, but they are certainly better known for their electrified sound. Excellent value!
