Ordered this for my Roof top cargo box for skis and snowboards, and I was thrilled. Got to use it 3 times, and then it started having problems.I keep the skis and snowboards in the cargo box while it's on this lift system, and those plus the weight of my box is about 100 pounds. This worked flawlessly lifting and lowering for a few uses, but then on my most recent use, the gear to lift this started grinding really bad (felt like it's randomly out of alignment) and it was really hard to crank it up.Once it was fully up, I realized that the finish has been worn off on the gear. I think it's toast, which is extremely frustrated considering I was less than half of the max weight limit.Lastly, I suspect a bit of fishy behavior from this company. I remember this being advertised as a ~500 LB capacity - so the sudden problems I had with 100 pounds was the first red flag. Then I went back in my order history to write this review, and the item isn't on amazon anymore, but this one is (same company, same item) but now advertised as a 300 lb capacity (obviously still should be having problems with my 100 lbs.)I wouldn't recommend this product, I'm trying to have the company resolve this and I'll update the review if they redeem themselves. Photos attached of the wear on the gear

I'd give it a zero if I could. The metal quality of the winch's worm gear is so poor that, when underload, it creates friction that prevent it from working. Don't buy.
