Acaciaware, by Pacific Merchants, is the highest quality and best valued Acacia woodenware available on the market; the bowls are hand turned from one solid piece of Acacia hardwood and the serving pieces are hand carved, making each one a unique, sculptured work of art. Acaciaware is a dense, naturally resinous hardwood which, by its very nature, resists penetration by water and will not absorb stains or odors. Use the Acaciaware Fish Shaped Salad Serving Set every day and special occasions – the exquisite craftsmanship, gorgeous color and natural design will make a special occasion out of any occasion. Acaciaware also means easy care. Hand wash with warm soapy water and air dry. It doesn’t typically require oil but, if for some reason it appears to be drying out, simply use a non-toxic mineral oil to restore the wood grain to its original beauty. Creating high quality woodenware is not Pacific Merchants only concern, they are also concerned about the environment. Their wood sources do not harm the environment by using slash and burn methods of harvesting trees. All of their wood is harvested with care meaning that the trees they use are harvested legally from privately owned lands, which are highly regulated and monitored by the government. Pacific Merchants cares about sustaining the environment and are constantly looking for wood sources. Acaciaware Fish Shaped Salad Serving Set. 2 pieces. 6 long.

Weird handles...but other than that they work well. Kinda flimsy, so be careful with them.

I have had these for about three years now and so far it is in great condition and works well. The wood is very solid yet light weight, so it is easy to work with and handle. I use them as a salad server and I use it to mix the salads, too. They come in pairs and are really cute in real life. To maintain the wood, I sometimes rub some cooking oil when storing them. Excellent and recommended.

These salad tongs are fantastic! Perfect for everyday use, but also for entertaining!!! Quite the conversation starter! I found my first set at anthropologie, and after receiving so many compliments on them I had to find more for gifts....so naturally I came to Amazon! Perfect for housewarming/wedding shower/birthday gift...or just to treat yourself! Buy more than one & keep them in your "gift closet"! Perfect for a man or woman!

I bought this as an upgrade for something our friends had on their wedding registry. The Acacia wood is so expensive looking compared to bamboo, and I appreciate the delicate playfulness of the design. I love the pattern of the grain, and the fact that it doesn't have any nasty coating on it (and can be shined up with some mineral oil). Hope they like it as much as I do. I may have to put this on my wishlist.

I just bought a second pair for myself and a pair as a gift. They really make tossing pasta or salad so easy. More importantly, they really help distribute the sauce or dressing thoroughly. They clean up easily with a quick hand-rinse, though I do put them in the dishwasher from time to time.

These match other acacia wood bowls and platters, and have a smooth, non-porous surface finish. They're about the size of an average woman's hand, and are just right for tossing and serving salads. I think they're a more natural shape to use than long-handled spoon and fork type servers.
