This was a must have on my 2015 Jetta with the 2-slow 4 popper. It saved a ton of time battling two of the very difficult to access cylinders (2&3). Worked great to remove OEM wires and install aftermarket ones (which it can remove as well). Perfect tool and well worth the money to save time and frustration.

It worked great for getting the hard-to-reach spark plug wires off on my 2001 VW 2.0 L engine. Other tools might have worked but this tool removed all the frustration

If this tool were a few inches shorter it would be perfect. I bent the tool in half to get it to work because my sprinkling opening faced the fire wall! This part was perfect. Just wish it was shorter in length. I got it to work!!

I have only had my 1999 Volkswagen Beetle for a month. It has the 2.0 non-turbo four cylinder with the 5 speed stick shift transmission. I am a Do it Yourself (DIY) maintenance guy. At some point, I will need to replace the spark plugs on the car. With my other cars, I could just grasp the ignition/spark plug cables at the boots with my fingers, and pull them off. With Volkswagens, you need a tool, like this one, to hook up to the hooks on the boots to pull the spark plug cables off. When the time come for me to change my car's spark plugs, I'll already have the tool necessary to pull the boots off.

I was able to get my ignition wires off the spark plugs with these but it wasn't easy. The groove on the tool was too high to catch the tab on the wires so I could never get a lock. There luckily ended up being enough friction from the rubber on the boot to get them off. They did help a lot for install of the new wires though.

I’m going to save you guys the headache and saying this won’t work for a MK4 2.0 Volkswagen. This isn’t a substitute to the dealer tool, matter of fact it wouldnt even grip the plug, and when I got it to grip it, it did pull of the plug, however, I couldn’t get the plug off this. I swear to god it was impossible to get it off. Just please take my advice and avoid this if you’re buying this for this job. It may work for other engines but it WILL NOT work for the 2.0 MK4 engine.
