The current Color Sounds (900) have wider sonic spread than previous Color Sounds- they sound better. However, the bell is less "separate," less pingy, and more of a clangy/gongy sound (not as useful as previous models.The new black Color Sounds have a paint flaw: they look black under low light (store), but in sunlight, or LED stage lights, the paint goes transparent & rainbowy- not matching older Color Sounds. It looks bad.

Love it!! It's a great compliment to my Zildjian S series 18" crash. Shorter decay than other crashes, still sounds and looks great!
