The spring that comes with this cable does not match up with the original on the Craftsman LT1000 it is about four rings too short will cause extra tension on your cable and possible failure. It did with mine had to order a second one and go back to the original spring. FYI overall was a good purchase but just a bit deceiving. Chinese products you get what you pay for.

The cable is 5 inches shorter than the original, but it still fits and works well -- engaging/disengaging the mower requires less effort now... I'm sure some bends are sharper than the original, but it doesn't seem to matter. I'm not sure if this will shorten its life...

Every couple of years the blade engagement cable breaks and must be replaced. The original one lasted 8 years. They just don’t make them like they use to. But this one seems sturdy and good quality.
