Crafting a Palatti dripper demands 20 pairs of skilled hands from Dehua artisans, working in precise sequence for 45 days. Any misstep, no matter how minor, means all 80 steps must be redone. No room for error. In the kiln's 2372°F(1300°C) searing heat, the clay shrinks by 20%, teetering on the edge of unexpected warping and cracking. The glaze liquefies, blooming into its true colors. Palatti's synchronous shrinkage technique turns unruly clay into a harmonious dance, making the impossible possible. This intricate process, unchanged from that of Dehua craftsmen a thousand years ago, allows no shortcuts. In focus, we find the way forward.
