Have no desire to test how sturdy the plastic hardware is, when my life may depend on it.In addition, I live in Arizona & the high heat of the summer quickly deteriorates plastic products.

You most likely will have to adjust it straight out of the box, it fits well, and it’s comfortable to put all my weight on it (I weigh 185lbs/83kg), my only issue is it loosens up a bit every time you crouch or lean, other than that it’ll hold, I've used it many times, and it is very durable.
