These are great - used because of videos by Jason Morgan whose wildlife art is remarkable. I would say it takes some practice and time to get used to them as they definitely don't work the same as pastel sticks or pencils. But they are easy to mix to expand colors and give beautiful undertones to the art.

I haven’t used these yet but I create art with pastels, wax and oil based pencils, oil and acrylics, and watercolor. I love art and it’s a great hobby. That said, I’ve learned so much from YouTube videos and my absolute favorite wildlife artist is Jason Morgan. He promotes this brand and has how-to videos on its uses. If you haven’t checked him out out, please do. You’ll be amazed. I’ve been wanting to dabble in pan pastel but they can be expensive and with so many colors to choose from, it can be difficult to know which ones to buy. So I didn’t hesitate in buying this set because Jason Morgan uses this mix of colors for his wildlife art. When I get a chance to work with these I’ll post an update and share an image with you.

First, I really love Jason Morgan's artwork, his professionalism, his kind nature, and his tremendous sense of community: he made numerous, terrific videos showing how to use Pan Pastels and pastel pencils in order to achieve a successful animal portrait. -- Pan pastels are velvety soft, they blend well, they don't create dust like pastels sticks do, and they create a great base ground for any pastel artwork. Great job, Pan Pastel!

This is a new medium for me so currently experimenting with them. Value for money as they are going to last a long time.

This is an excellent combination of colors for wildlife and pets. Since I started using Panpastel pastels, I don't use my stick pastels as much.These are like using regular paints with the "Sofft" applicators.Highly recommended.
