Ok so first off I cant get any real internet where i live. So i bought this to “give it a shot” and let me tell you what. I run it through my Acer Nitro 5 and can game with around 6-10mbps download and 4-8mbps upload speed anywhere i get Verizon service. (These are speeds at 1-2 bars of 4g LTE) its not optimal for big downloads, but if your just looking to have a simple internet service for something this thingis the bomb!

Having some issues with random loss of connectivity. Not sure if it is the replacement modem or something else in system. This was an exact replacement; previous modem did not have this issue.

Will not work with USB 3.0 ports! USB 2.0 ports only! Other than that, works great in Windows 10. Really fast 4G internet speed.

Happy. Inspite of the very little info online whether this modem will work with my ASUS router as a 3/4g failover backup connection ... based on seeing somewhere that the older 3g UML 290 works.. this one being nearly identical but not needing the Verizon manager software.. I took the chance and tried it. So far so good...! I was able to successfully put my network online with this connected directly to my ASUS router!

The only Internet service available where I live is via Verizon 4G LTE. I plugged the Pantech device in to the USB port on a Cradlepoint router at home and it provides the Internet connection for my TV and other portable devices. It also works with my laptop if I need to work remotely. Very happy with it!

Make sure you get the correct size SIM card - narrower, not the same size SIM as the UML290. Windows 10 has the drivers - plug and play. The browser based application doesn't require an install, and is easy if not intuitive to navigate. You will be required, if using with Verizon, to activate a separate device, and number for the device - Verizon will need to know the IMEI number string, which is underneath the cover along with the barcode sticker. So far, I'm duly impressed with the device both as part of a wifi router as a failover internet connection as well as directly plugged into a notebook. One last piece I should also mention I did not need to install the device's enhanced application in order to support a Cisco Anyconnect VPN client - awesome!

Very frustrating that this item's description does not say that it doesn't come with the SIM card (I bought from seller "Mazel Wireless"). As the question notes, it is not usable without a SIM card and I assumed it was included. Now I am in a place where I cannot buy SIM cards and cannot use this device...

Great product as our family has this and works fast - just did not work with our outdated operating system
