There was 30 years of corrosion and the resulting pitting on the neck of my original thermostat housing nipple. As such, even with two hose clamps, there was always a slight dribble of green coolant blood.A new GM OEM thermostat housing fixed the issue.Just be sure your intake manifold uses this housing. Also, be sure to order a "sealing" O-ring which encircles the actual thermostat. A traditional paper gasket is not applicable here...

This is 100% the same one that would come from the factory. GM part# 10147884. Acdelco Genuine parts are OEM & is who make most gm parts & they are owned by GM. A lot if not most GM parts will have the acdelco part # on the package as well. It tends to cost more when buying under the GM name then with the acdelco part # that would be the 100% the same part.

Fits just like the factory one. I accidentally cracked the original while doing head gaskets. I didn't realize these were aluminum like the intake so I cranked it too tight but the one I bought here looked and fit just like the original.
