I bought this to split plastic basin nuts. It drives into the nut but doesn’t split them. Maybe if the nuts are aged and brittle, but not on newer ones.

I just received this tool, haven't used it yet. The 1st thing I noticed on the package: "removes die-cast nuts". This was nowhere to be found in the description. Die-cast nuts are those Grey colored soft metal nuts, famous for corroding on the faucet shank. The reviewers that have said the cutters bend after a few uses have likely used it on the more common (nowadays at least) brass or steel nuts, a much harder metal. Seems like a quality tool however and will certainly make quicker removal for die cast or plastic nuts.

Used twice & blades started to dent & mar. After that the product no longer would break the nut . First two cuts where fist & easy . I pay a lot of money for this tool to only work twice & I encouraged my other fellow plumbers to buy . Very disappointed in the product.Especially after seeing so many positive reviews!

As a full time plumber I highly recommend getting one. You may not always use it but when you need it for that basin but that won’t come off easy this will come in handy, just spray it with wd40 every once in awhile to keep it like new
