I bought this piggy bank for my daughter, and she absolutely loves it! It looks like a mini safe with a combination lock, making saving money both fun and educational. She enjoys putting in both bills and coins while learning the importance of saving. It's super cute, and my son loves it too. Plus, if he ever changes the passcode, I can easily remove the batteries and reset it to 0000. The coin slot isn’t automatic, but the bill slot is, and the sound effects are really cute. I'm also impressed that after a month, my son hasn’t broken it—seems pretty durable! The material feels sturdy, and the design is adorable. The numeric keypad lock gives her the feeling of having her own private bank, and the automatic bill slot makes it even more fun and realistic.

This was an Easter gift for our 4 year old who is starting to learn about money. He got a few dollars on his birthday a few months ago, and we wanted a safe place to store it that would also be fun for him. Because he's still young, we didn't want a traditional bank that would just have a rubber stopper in it, in case he got some change and wanted to put it in. He doesn't really put random stuff in his mouth, but I always err on the side of caution and the last thing I want is him (or his younger siblings) to get into it and choke on or swallow coins. I do think the age range is fairly accurate, and it's a fun and functional product. It's cute, but the sound quality of the music it plays when you deposit money inside leaves a bit to be desired. It's an ok size, but it would probably fill up pretty quickly for an older kid who is getting money like an allowance on a regular basis. The code to open the safe was easy to program.

Load this up with three AA batteries and you're good to go. The default combination is 0000 but it's easily reset to whatever four digit code you prefer. I used our little guy's birthday.IF you forget the code it states that you can pull the batteries for ten+ minutes, then reinsert them, and the lock will reset. I didn't try this as I used his birthdate which I won't forget and I'm sure that he won't either. There is a slot to drop in coins. Another slot allows you to load in bills. Feed the bills in (presumably one at a time) and this bank pulls them in like an ATM machine which children are bound to enjoy. There are numerous musical selections and various sounds which children will love and adults probably won't. The directions indicate these sounds can be turned off for those unwilling to put up with em. A switch within the bank is easily engaged and will mute the sounds. The operation is straightforward and smooth. This attractive bank appears to be well constructed and made of quality materials. I expect he'll get years of use from this if it's used with proper care and respect. One criticism is the lack of included directions. I had to refer to the listing which can change it even disappear. A small pamphlet with directions would make this nearly perfect bank even better.Savings cards are also included. I don't have any interest in them but perhaps my niece (who I live with) will find them useful. This bank is -imo- top notch. I hope it will help to encourage a lifetime of good savings habits while making it a bit fun, even interesting.04/20-2025 updateOur little guy (4 yrs old) opened this on Easter and LOVES it. He's enamored of the various sounds and songs. He enjoys dropping in coins and especially likes loading in bills. All of its operations are as straightforward, smooth and easy for him as they were for me.
