Circuit board stays a bit loose inside the metal enclosure. It’s definitely tough but the connection feels weak due to the boards ability to move. I have tried every screw in every hole and flipped the end pieces around and it remains loose. Works very well though so I recommend!

I needed to retrieve data off a 2010 MacBook Air. Because Apple is Apple, the SSD is a standard form factor with a proprietary pin out. It was easy to install the drive in this little enclosure. I was able to get the files off with no problems.NOTE FOR WINDOWS USERS: Apple uses a different file system than Microsoft (HFS+ or APFS). Files will NOT be accessible on a PC without special software. If you want to check if the drive and enclosure are functional, open diskmgmt and it should appear. In order to actually view and retrieve files, you will either need to connect the drive/enclosure to a Mac or purchase software like Paragon.

This enclosure was purchased for a new Apple iPad Air in order to store data from an old computer. It was easy to configure and install. Good product.

What I received is not a Macbook Air 6-12 connector compatible device. Compare the attached image of what I received with the image posted by the seller. Definitely not the same and definitely not compatible with a 2010 Macbook Air.

Worked just as needed and as described. Loose fitting case/screws cannot tighten but worked regardless and allows you to save files otherwise lost from old MacBook Air.

So when my beloved 9 year old 11.6" MacBook Air went dark and didn't resusitate, my heart broke. BUT, the battery was still alive so there was a chance it wasn't the ssd. The irony in addition to I using Time Machine constantly and cloud backup, I was in the process of cleaning it up to perform a disk image.... just didn't make it in time. This enclosure arrived fast and in less than 15 minutes I'd removed the ssd and loaded it into the enclosure, plugged it into our other laptop and- JOY! Now I've got access to everything as I set up the new laptop. Worth it.
