Great little headset!Pros: lightweight, durable, volume control, high quality mic and good sound, great price.Cons: only meant for chatting as the single headphone has no surround soynd and thus doesn't help for listening in on FPS footsteps. All around a great buy for someone who wants to chat online!

So you get what you pay for. For kids this is a great headset reminds me of my afterglow with the xbox 360. Now I dont mean that first phrase in a bad way I mean it in a good way. For 9 bucks this thing is great! Stores charge 15 to 20 for it and I would pay 15 maybe if i needed the headset right away but I think the sweet spot is definitely 9-10. The sound is not the best its kinda quiet but again this isn't for professional gamers but light gamers and young kids so well worth it!

Worked nicely for about a year. Finally stopped working this week. The product held up nice physically but the wire is what ultimately made it unusable. Not terrible for the price, my expectations for this weren’t high. Time for a turtle beach now.

Four months in, the headset has stopped working due to some wire in the plug being so slightly out of place. I'm delicate with the handling of my equipment, but this wire malfunction has been a point of frustration for me across most headsets this past year.

love this, an Economical headset, exceptionally clear sound, use it when I'm playing world of tanks, as I have no other 'multiplayer games' right now, sound is crisp and clear, using it with the controller adapter, as my controller had no headphone port... as i say works fine, better than my other headset which used an adapter to get from the 2.5mm jack to 3.5mm then to the controller addapter, perhaps the 2 adapters where my problem, but this headset means i don't need one of those... anyways works fine does what its suposed to do, should last long enough, and if not well its cheap enough to buy a couple of spares

Good headset for a low price. Sound is clear, Mic works great. No issues at all and would recommend to anyone. Also, very comfortable to wear and blocks out exterior sound very well. Only thing I would recommend is to keep the volume down or off from the tv. The Mic will pick up the sound and cause an echo.

I thought that all the 1 Star reviews were harsh and exaggerated, but unfortunately they are all true! If I could rate this item with a negative rating well I sure would! The sound quality is less than terrible, it is horrible. Nothing but statics and noises coming from a very small earpiece that barely covered my ear. Moreover, the other side of the headset literally put a bend in my head and is very hurtful and totally uncomfortable. Sometimes, you think that you are saving money but you really don't, because it is a life fact that you only get for what you pay. In this case, you get a crappy headset for under $20 with too many hassles and you still need to find another one that will do the job. Guys, if game chat is crucial for you and your friends online, DO NOT buy this piece of junk, just stay away!

So I bought this as a gift for my boyfriend after his old one broke, and surprise the the next day (after I ordered them) while I was at work we bought himself the same brand but the full headphone pair that cost him $100. When I got home and him all excited about his new headset. I was bummed. I still didn't tell him I got new headset, and so at first I tried to cancel the order but they had all ready shipped it. So i figured ill keep them as a spare because he goes through headsets like crazy. First thing he complained about was how uncomfortable the headset he bought felt. So me being curious I told him I had ordered a new headset but he had ruined it by buy one, so I opened the new headset i bought and it felt awesome and comfortable. I like the fact its not a whole headset because 1. It was hard for him and I to talk and that was one of the complaints he had with the headset he had bought. 2. This was not tight around the head and he liked the fact the mic arm bar as I call it is flexible and the headset part over the ear moves as well to make it more comfortable. Also he loved the volume adjuster and the mic off switch on the headset cord. He has ended up using this as his main headset. Thank you

Inexpensive and comfortable. I read one of the previous reviews and stretched it out over a ball before waring it and after an additional few hours of waring it, it fits comfortably. Nothing super special here. It is exactly what you'd expect it to be. Sound and mic are nice and clear. There is no game sound with this headset. It's only for communication. Here is something I didn't know, newly switched from the 360, and I found that was important. I thought the sound volume for this headset poor at first BUT there are actually controls in the XB1 settings that allow you to turn up the headset and/or mic volumes. So far, I'm happy and I would buy it again if I was doing it over.

Got this headset last week and I love it. I absolutely hated the standard Xbox One chat headset as it felt too flimsy and awkward to wear, plus it's small earpiece (l have large ears) always kept it falling from my head. While initially I read the reviews of this Afterglow headset hurting after a while when you first receive it (yes that's true) I ended up putting the headset on a volley ball to stretch it out, and now it fits comfortably and I don't even notice it.Also, for all of those 1 star reviews because of the alleged "direct controller connection compatibility" that they thought would work with the older styled Xbox One controller, clearly didn't do enough research before buying. Xbox has come out with new Xbox One controllers that have a built in 3.5mm headset jack in addition to the standard jack that issues the Xbox one accessories. This headset is built for the newer Xbox One controllers, and unless you have the stereo headset adapter, will not work on an older Xbox one controller. Also, the description clearly shows that it has a 3.5mm connector, and that this headset works with the new version of the Xbox One controller. For those who need the adapter to make this work on an older Xbox One controller, look up on Amazon the Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter, or go to your local Target / Walmart / Best Buy and pick one up there. The accessory runs you about $25.Now, Pros and Cons of the Headset:Pros:•Wider Earpiece allows the headset to comfortably sit on my ear•Friends can hear me clearly and wellI can hear their voices well•Headset fits comfortably after its stretched out.•Has an in-line mute toggle and volume dial in addition to the Xbox One Headset Adapter controls.•Cable is well built•Mic Boom is flexible to bend it closer or farther away from your mouthCons:•Headset comes packaged in a tiny box, so the headband is rather tight and uncomfortable at first•When the volume dial in-line with the cord is fully maxed out, friends tell me they can hear themselves talking / echoing.•Cord is about 1-2 inches shorter than the original Xbox One Chat Headset, not not enough to make a difference•The earpiece only goes on the left ear as the mic only rotates 90 degrees and you can't reverse it around like you can on the Original Xbox One Chat Headset.•As signature with Afterglow, nothing glows on the headset. The images made it look like the green band around the earpiece glows. If you're looking for an alternative to a Xbox One chat headset and want something a little more rugged than the standard one you get with the Xbox One, I recommend spending the extra $5 and picking this headset up.
