Does it work? Yes. Yes, it does. And, I think I even like it. But, there's definitely room for improvement. The design allows it to move through the peanut butter pretty easily, but that also means that it isn't stirring as much as something with a flatter surface, like a knife. You need to twist it around and move it up and down, trying to dig around into all the nooks and crannies. It both looks and feels like the design kind of overlooks the bottom center of the jar though. You can kind of get there with some effort. But, my biggest issue with this is it could use a larger handle to get a better grip for twisting. The wooden handle really needs to be twice the size that it is. If you have the hand strength to twist the handle, you probably have the hand strength to just use a knife. So, jury is currently out on whether this will end up getting used or if it will get lost and forgotten in the utensil drawer.Where it did shine though, is at that very initial stage of stirring a jar of natural peanut butter, when there's still a layer of oil on top. That's the point where I typically end up splashing some oil down the sides of the jar as I start mixing. And, that's really why I got this thing to begin with. Since it does do a good job of getting past that hump without making a mess and may be a bit less work than using a knife, maybe I will end up using it after all.Btw, the cleaning card works quite well, particularly if you go at it in a couple of different orientations. So, although its not an enthusiastic recommendation, I think it may be worth a try.

My favorite peanut butter always separates and I don't like storing it in the frig because it gets too hard to use. Before I had tried all sorts of things to stir the peanut butter, they all consist of a arm and hand work out that I didn't ask for. This stirring kitchen tool is just wonderful! It works so well that it even gets in the bottom corners of the jar without a problem. The scrapper fits right over the metal stirring piece and cleans all the peanut butter off.

We go thru a lot of creamy natural peanut butter here, large jars, so I was quite excited about trying out this tool. I usually use a butter knife, usually spill a fair amount of oil, careful as can be (not careful enough, I guess). It did make it easier to mix the peanut butter without a lot of spillage, and it did get down into the corners (I know, a round jar doesn’t have corners, but that’s how my brain thinks of the bottom edges of the jar). However, the wood handle is way too small for arthritic hands, and the scraper thing is worthless…my fingers do a much superior job to that tool.I keep vacillating between 3 and 4 stars…guess I’ll give the benefit of the doubt. Also, asked myself, will I use it again? The answer is yes, tho silly me, I’ll probably also get out my butter knife to double check. I think it’s the lack of spillover that hooks me…I hate cleaning up spilled oil and greasy jars.Helpful Hint from Heloise…if you haven’t already discovered this, store your unopened jars of PB upside down, which leaves the oil on the bottom when you open the jar to do the mixing thing…really cuts down on the spillage factor.

I've never seen anything like this but it is a great invention. The small handle is actually pretty easy to twist, and the fact that it's made from wood elevates the tool a bit. The cleaning tool is necessary but it's a little rough looking. I hope this holds up because it really is great.

This was a bit of a long shot for me, but since I only eat natural peanut butter I thought it was worth a shot. I’d love to say it mixed up the oil and nuts that settle on top of the peanut butter like a champ, but it didn’t do any better than a spatula. About the only advantage I saw was the oil didn’t spill out of the top of the jar the way it can when using a knife or spatula if I’m not careful. The nuts were still on top of the PB when I had finally managed to stir the oil back into the butter. The little metal spatula thing you use to clean the tool was a nice touch but a bit of a challenge to use. I managed to get as much peanut butter outside of the jar as I did inside when I used it to clean the tool. So, did it mix the PB? Yes.Was it spectacular? No.Would a knife or spatula work just as well? Yes.

If you buy natural peanut butter, you know that stirring a freshly opened peanut butter jar can be annoying. I've always used a butter knife and hate how the oil spills out sometimes when stirring. This little tool worked perfectly without any oil spilling or coming close to spilling. The design makes it so that all of the peanut butter gets stirred.Durable and relatively easy to clean plus came with a scraper. I didn't even know this existed but I'm glad I have one now.

This tool is well made but poorly designed, it took five times longer to stir a standard jar of peanut butter than by using regular kitchen fork.
