Beautiful flute with a crystal clear sound. This is a good intermediate flute bought for a middle school student that was ready for more difficult music. Hope to have this flute take him through high school.

This is a difficult review to make. The flute itself is technically really beautiful and nice. It comes with finger hole plugs (which I don't care for) already installed. For me, the particular embouchure hole was weird and I did not care for the tone, as it was more towards and the tendency was towards "shrilly and bright." For me, the cash was less of an issue so I went with the Perl Dolce and absolutely love it. For someone upgrading from a super-simple student model to a better quality flute, this is probably perfect for you. If you understand over-tones, intonation, and know what partials are, this may not be the flute for you. All in all, the case is nice, (though it's not wood; and honestly, having the wood case, I like the black material one this model comes with.) If you like a warmer tone, pay the extra and get the Dolce. If you are a student who wants a fairly inexpensive upgrade that is top quality; I'd certainly say have at this model.

My daughter loves this flute. It has a beautiful rich sound. She hasn't removed the grommets from the open holes yet, as it will take more effort to play with the holes, but she thoroughly enjoys playing this flute, and the difference in sound quality is noticeable, especially if she plays on it after playing with her regular flute. Well worth the investment if your child is going to continue with the flute for a few years.
