It keeps us warm without overheating, and it quickly transfers excess heat so we're not constantly swapping out layers. Very comfortable. Soft to the touch. It is warm. Keep in mind it has to do double duty as trying to not making you too hot while keeping you warm.They accomplish this partly by making the underside of the arms with no insulation. Personally I would have preferred insulation all over since you can unzip from the bottom or top to vent as needed.The hood fits under a helmet if your head cover isn’t enough.I would say the sizing is on the small side. I am normally a straight XL. I would call this a snug XL.If you want more layers underneath, size up.
