I bought this thinking I may use the soft side one day, and I don't see any use for it right now. I bought it to use for my bongo cowbell, which you typically play loud. Other than that, it feels solid, and I hope I can get a couple of years out of it. I hope this review helps.

This stick bangs on a cowbell. Sometimes loud and sometimes quiet, depending on if you use the wood side or the muted side. Vaya con Dios amigos!

So far, this is one of the best beaters I have used. I love that there is one side that mutes the bell and the other side which makes it ring brighter. It is very durable and I highly recommended it.

Well made. I was surprised because the description says synthetic but it certainly seems like wood. The grip is great. Easy to ring the cowbell with little effort. The padding wears well over time and makes a nice muted sound.
