To be sure, these are toys. Not really vernier graduations. In the toolmaker trade, we called the best of these (Starrett, Brown and Sharpe) "very nears". Those are accurate to within 0.001" at best. Again, these are a toy. Bought them for my grandsons. They are graduated down to 1/128th" and 0.05mm. But, good luck reading them that close. They are about as accurate as a tape measure. Again, these are toys. Now, if you want a different way to measure and measure diameters better than a tape measure, go for it. Before I gave them to my grandsons, I nipped the steel rod off that measures depth. Otherwise, it is very dangerous. 4 stars is appropriate if you manage your expectations and application.

The black vernier is not the same as in the advertisement picture. The black vernier in the picture has tic marks (division lines) showing a pronounced line at the half inch divisions. The vernier given has the divisions in 1/8" tic marks at the same height, with no pronounced 1/2" division line. I bought this one for its 1/2 division tic marks and was expecting to receive what was pictured.

These are fine for coarse measures of known sizes (e.g., is this a 10mm or a 3/8" bolt). However, the tolerances are pretty loose for any sort of precision measurement. If you're just classifying parts, they're great. If you're actually measuring for fit, you might want to consider how much you'll save in wasted material.

I have metal calibers that are more durable but difficult to read and don't do a better job than these plastic ones. I love having caliper within reach when I'm working on bench projects. I ordered this pair when I temporarily lost my "go to" one. They will now be stored where I can find them at a moment's notice.

Great value for a simple two pack caliper. No it is not the utmost in quality and precision but for simple measurements and value for money spent it is perfect imo.

I frequently help a friend along my path to town for shopping. When help includes tools this helps us bring the correct tool or part to the job when the travel distances are long. Measures even include a vernier

These are perfect for general home maintenance. Much better than guestamating pipe diameter with a tape measure, ect. Slides easily and the scale is ledgible enough. The only down side is that I could have used these years ago.
