Bought these for an unconventional use - melting styrofoam for a family crafting project for Halloween. I couldn't justify spending double on a variable temp one. This was perfect. Got a pair and they worked like a charm. Amazingly we didn't kill them during the project. Very happy!

the soldering iron burnt after half hour .terrible item. I would never buy it again.the thing just never was built right.
