Ok so this is a great set for making your own pergola, You get the feet, which you can place on top a concrete [pad or foot and stand your leg beams up in while building, they have holes in them to secure the beam inside of the footing also. The 3 way top brackets are pretty interesting, each of the beam ends have their own enclosed area so you can set the pieces on the beams in any order and you don't have to worry about them encroaching on the other beams space for a secure fit. They take 6X6 beams, so you can use any type of material you want to make those 6x6 beams. They are hefty brackets, very strong metal, the seams look well done, The only imperfections I found was in the inner corners where the pieces rubbed together during shipping, it rubbed the black paint off and exposed the metal which I will have to paint to reduce the risk of it rusting. If you're looking for a DIY heavy duty easy to assemble pergola bracket set, this is the real deal.

Will do a fantastic job when it’s time to build our pergola. I am pleased with the build quality, the weight, and the finish. So far everything fits as it should and I have no doubts when it’s time to tapcon this to the patio slab all will be well.

This is a nice, complete set of pergola brackets that look to be well-made and welded firmly together. I have yet to set up my plot to place our upcoming pergola, but - face value - there's nothing that says these shouldn't be a perfect solution for some quick and solid joinery. They also have the modern look that accompanies such steel hardware, which is what I'm aiming for.The brackets arrived wrapped nicely in plastic, without any damage from shipping (this is nice to note, as they aren't particularly featherweight). Each bracket has holes drilled in proper, matching locations, and the overall finish is smooth and even. There are a couple holes in the weld puddles on the edge, but - from a manufacturing standpoint - I can let this slide. The sheet metal used for these measures about 0.070" thick, which corresponds to about a 14 gauge steel with the coating on top. This should be completely adequate for support and longevity. The brackets also fit the scrap pieces of 6x6 I have, and measure roughly 5-9/16" internally, which allow for a firm fit without much (if any) slop.Altogether, for the price, this is a solid set of pergola brackets. I'm looking forward to getting my project underway and reporting back. Looks like these will save a ton of time and provide that modern look we're after!

Timber framing has its challenges and while mortise and tenon joinery is good for certain places, in others you need the welcome aid of steel to quickly join posts and beams - this kit has what you need!

I originally had a set of these in the 4x4 size and decided to upgrade to 6x6. The 6x6 size has a little better welding than the 4x4 set did. That's probably a good thing because the 6x6 set is going to be expected to hold a heavier load. That's a nominal 6x6, not actual. So, 5.5" on each side. The brackets are simple to use but I have a few pointers.Sand/bevel the edges before you paint or install. There isn't much wiggle room to get them on and it gets tighter and tighter for each additional piece added in because it gets harder to adjust the beams. At first I was using a board and mallet to hammer the brackets on but I dented one and had a heck of a time removing the dent before final install. I used a file for some and a sander for others. Both ways worked by rounding the corners and edges off a hair. I did my first set before painting and wish I would have painted second because it gummed up the file/sandpaper.The brackets provide good coverage to keep water out so I didn't repaint the sanded parts before final install. The included hardware looks sufficient for my use but you may need to check with your engineer/architect for bolt specs. The black finish is thick and even. It looks really good against a slightly off white paint. I used about 70lbs of concrete on each leg and decided to add to it after install. If I did it again I'd go with two or more 90lb bags per leg.

These brackets are strong. They make building up a pergola simple and quick.4 brackets for the legs and 4 for the corners on the top..If you've played with your blocks as a child, then this will be simple. Lol

If you haven't priced a pergola hardware set at your local hardware store before, prepare to be amazed at the price you'll find ($250 at Home Depot last time I looked). This set seems to be comparable quality to the hardware store sets at a fraction of the price. The brackets are very heavy duty (and just plain heavy) and have a nice black powder coated finish that should hold up nicely to Idaho weather. The post bases are nice and solid and fit 4x4 pressure treated lumber exactly as expected. If you're building a pergola, you'd be a fool not to consider this set!
