I received this feeder a few days ago and filled it up today, and hung it in a tree. It seems like a sturdy metal feeder and very easy to open/close the top to fill it. The only part of the feeder that is not metal is the "drawstring" type closure for the lid, but the plastic it is made of feels sturdy.I put sunflower seeds without the shell in the larger mesh side. And nyjer mixed with millet in the smaller mesh side, from my local bird feed store. The feeder comes with a plastic coated steel cable with a loop at the end to hang it by. It does not come with a hook to hang with. I used a big plastic carabiner to hang it on a branch by the cable loop. Overall very impressed and happy with the quality and size of this feeder for about $24! Hoping it holds up well season after season.

Nice feeder. Great for sunflower seed. Squirrels don’t seem to both with it. The small birds love it.

I purchased this PJ to the chair, the house sparrows. I have house sparrows a whole herd of them this feeder, has a small tray it limits the house sparrows to only three or four birds the regular birds still come and get a chance to eat right now? I’m looking at the feeder and mama cardinal is on the feeder with just two sparrows

I was a little disappointed to see that within an hour of filling this feeder, it was heavy enough to pull four screws out of the arm that was holding it to a tree. It smashed to the ground and spilled the bird feed, but although it was dented, it was in pretty good shape for falling 8 feet. As long as you have a secure method of holding it up, this is well-built, and should survive a fall. Happy with it overall.

I love this cute birdfeeder. Looks sharp too. The birds love it. I've found if I pack the seeds too tightly, the birds cannot pull out the seeds that well. So, NP. Just drop in the sunflower seeds w/o compacting and have happy birds! There was one problem that I fixed w/o delay. The drainage holes at the very bottom of the birdfeeder are too sparse. Birds don't like soggy moldy seeds nor do I. So I merely drilled lots of new holes but small holes so that the seeds would not drop out. All in all, it's a great feeder. I was hoping that it was available in more colors other than the blue which I already bought through amazon a few years back. So, yeah, it's lasted in great condition (including the new holes at the bottom which I added) for more than 2 or so years! Well, maybe I'll buy another blue one and spray paint it or simply hang another blue one. Eh.

The birds love it, what better proof can one have that it does the job. It's well made, attractive quaint design, and I highly recommend it for use on a squirrel proof pole (greased pole).

Un comedero bonito para el jardín. Parece bien construido. Por ahora los pájaros no se han animado a usarlo, habrá que esperar...

I ordered this feeder because it was made to hold two different seed mixes and was less expensive than a similar feeder from another brand. The feeder seemed well made. Unfortunately, the fitting to hold the lid to the top of the seed chambers depends on an adjustable component with a thin, stretchy cord similar to fishing line. My area often has wind, say thirty miles/hour or more. The feeder would not hang straight in strong winds. This would prevent the lid from staying tight to the feeder. Moreover, my bird feeders are out in the sun all day. I had a feeder with a similar lid component many years ago and the stretchy cord did not withstand the solar radiation nor the temperature extemes, over 100 deg. in the summer and single digits in the winter. I returned the feeder and bought a different one, also two chamber, with a screw clamp for the lid.

I love the look and the size of this feeder. We border woods on 3 sides, so we have many feather buddies to treat. This time of year, through April, we fill our open feeders every day. This mesh feeder, as well as the manufacturer ball mesh feeder, holds much more black oil sunflower seed - so less work for us. I hung this feeder yesterday, and have had 2 to 4 birds on it at the same time. They are sharing and playing nice! It would be nice to have this feeder in other colors too! We clean our feeders often, depending on rain/humidity. If you read a review that states it gets moisture on the bottom, well Yah - it is an outside feeder. Do not put out feeders unless you have time to maintain them. Also, ours came with a lid. So no problem there. Enjoy!
