Upgrade kit for permeate pump with 90% shut off for systems using membranes
rated at 100 GPD or less. The permeate pump improves system efficiency,
reduces waste, and increase tank storage capacity and delivery pressure.
Product Features
Aquatec ERP 1000
The most popular permeate pump on the market
90% ASV
Higher threshold auto shut off valve allows for fuller tanks, increase tank
capacity
Reduces Waste
Reduces back pressure from the tank, maximizing system efficiency and water
purity
Non-electric
Hydraulically powered, uses the pressure created from the waste water,
eliminating the need for electricity
Great for Borderline Pressure
Provides dramatic improvement on homes with 35-45 psi, and marked
improvement in any situation
Product Description
Non-electric pump improves system performance, decreases waste water, and
increases tank storage capacity
Reverse osmosis requires a minimum of 40 psi to function correctly, and a
pressure of 60-80 psi is ideal for best performance. Typically electric
booster pumps are the solution, but the non-electric permeate pump provides
a low cost alternative for borderline pressure (35 psi) and increases
efficiency, even with higher incoming pressure.
By using hydraulic pressure generated by the waste water, this system
relieves back pressure from the tank, reducing the amount of waste water
produced.
The 90% auto shut off valve allows the storage tank to be filled to 90% of
incoming line pressure, as opposed to the 60% that standard auto shut off
valves allow, increasing tank storage capacity.

I bought this permeate pump for my Apec RO-PH90 system. The unit came with used tubing and missing locking plastic on one of the holes. It was obvious that I received someone's return. I was going to return it but decided to fix it and use it if possible. After installation ( took maybe 1 hour, after watching several videos and diagrams ) I was so surprised about the waste water savings. It's not as much as advertised -80% I think, but I'm happy with the upgrade that I did. I'm a bit skeptical about longevity though. AFW Filters the seller shouldn't be shipping someone's return product and furthermore seller should be penalized. Just my 2 cents.Update: After using the pump for few weeks, to me the noise everyone mentions, doesn't seem to be a factor at all. It's really a minor matter IMO. The water usage is around 1:4 ratio for my unit. So in my case, I save the waste water for other things and it's pretty much used effectively.

First time installing a permeate bump to a RO system. Instruction provides clear directions. No leak, and work perfectly. Comes with all the parts required. Great add on for any RO system.

When I was looking at the install diagrams I felt like it would be easy. When I got under the sink, I felt a bit overwhelmed even though I was the one that installed the filtration system. Once I narrowed down that it was just two lines I had to worth about, it was very quick and easy.I read reviews before buying and was a little apprehensive about noise. I did notice the clicking but it either went away after a couple days or it’s so light I don’t notice. The waste draining is louder than the pump! One thing I am a little disappointed about is I don’t really notice an increase in the strength of the stream from the fridge water dispenser. I do feel like our ice cubes are better as far as size. So I think it fills the ice maker better now.

If you are very new to RO system, consider getting your RO system vendor or plumber to assist in installation. Otheriwse, if you have a basic understanding of how RO system are connected and are generally proficient in connecting and disconnecting various RO lines, then you should have no difficulty in following the enclosed instruction for installation.Product works well, brine water greatly reduced and water production only resumes when storage tank falls below a certain level.

I have a generic RO system with 3 pre filters and a RO membrane. It was slow processing the product water. I heard about the Permeate pump searching online for options. It sounded like a good idea. No electric motors and quicker processing of water. Well, installed it and guess what??? It works!!! I fill my 5 gal. tank in about an hour. It does make a slow clicking sound but it is not noise and tells me it is working. I don't know if it is saving brine waste but if it saves any that is a good thing. I just love that it makes processing faster and uses no extra power. The new auto shut off valve does also work good---I get a greater fill in my tank. Now my ice maker makes better and proper ice...and I can fill my frige water tank fully. It does bring your RO to a higher level. I think the price is justified.

This kit is definitely an improvement. It is not quite 90% just like others have mentioned in their review. I bought this to improve my storage tank pressure so that my ice maker and water descender on the fridge has good flow. Her is my findings on the ASO:Before new ASO 55psi water supply, off @ 35 psi, on @ 15-20 psiAfter new ASO 55psi water supply , off @ 45 psi, on @ 25-30 psiAs for the premate pump, it does tick quite notably. I found that it helps the noise if I run double brine out lines to the drain. ( T right after the outlet and then 2 lines about 5ft long to the floor drain). As one other has mentioned, hanging it instead of using the wall clamp further quiets the pump. This is installed in the basement and when your next to it, it seems loud but as soon as I go upstairs I don’t notice it.I’m not sure about the efficiency of this setup but seeing as it’s relieving the pressure on the RO outlet i would imagine it has to be helping. I definitely underestimated how slow a RO system produced water but this would be the case for any RO system. As the pump runs the drain water turns on and off as the pump actuates but it seem that this is completely normal. Some of the noise I had was the drain lines smacking the wall every time the pump cycled. This noise was removed by securing the lines to the wall with P clamps. If this is installed correctly it defiantly helps. I going to guess that anyone saying this works worse is probably not installing it correctly. Their directions for the pump are OK at best and there is no directions for the ASO valve. ( had to research the internet to get the correct install )

Just installed with my apec ro-90. Seems to work. It is very quiet which is excellent. Installation wasn't difficult, I did watch some YouTube videos to help since I have never installed an RO system before.

I would have given this a 5 star rating, but it can be difficult to get it hooked up properly.I have worked with RO systems for years, using them for my saltwater reef tanks. I always used the electric booster pumps on those systems. I recently moved to an area with HORRIBLE water and decided to get a system for drinking water. I do not like the idea of having water around power, so I decided to get this pump. When I opened it, it seemed that it would be simple enough to install, but it took me a couple of hours and lots of research to get it working correctly. The instructions are not very clear at all. I had to search YouTube and Google for better instructions.I finally just replaced all of the tubing on my system. I started at the input, and worked my way through the system one tube at a time. I followed the instructions exactly, and finally got it working. Now that it is working properly, I am quite pleased with the pump. It does make a clicking sound while it is working, but it is not enough to bother me, plus the reduction in waste water is worth it to me.
