Install is quick and uncomplicated. I rallycross through the SCCA and this modification does make it easier to set an angle without worrying about ratchet engaging as I didn't install the spring. Setting the e-brake to hold the brake when parked is as easy as pushing the knob forward so the gear can engage before pulling the brake up and "setting" the brake.Do be careful and pay attention. This device has the ability of not re-installing the spring that makes an e-brake hold when pulled.
