As my Shih-Tzu and Chihuahua age, this is needed to help them get on to and off of the bed. I don't want them launching themselves off the top of the mattress or trying to jump up from the ground anymore. They still do, sometimes, but this at least gives them an option! It assembles easily and has lasted many years. I like the carpet treads as it offers some grip.

So ok I got Rocky the stairs, because in our new home he does not have enough runway, or that is what I thought. I set up the stairs which was easy enough, and what does he do? He jumps on the bed. My recourse is to help him up the stairs. He is a smart dog or a smarty pants dog he will get it. LOL

Even though I do have one complaint, I'm still giving these stairs 5-stars solely because we found no other stairs at this height that actually had deep enough steps to not scare away our dogs. We have purchased 4 different kinds previously. They were either too wobbly, too short to reach our tall bed, or each step was too shallow to allow our dogs a comfortable climb. Vision can be a problem with some dogs too, especially older ones who need these, and if they can't understand what they are seeing they are too skittish to go up the stairs. Like the ones that you can see through in between each step, those scare our older dog. These are sturdy and easy to put together and take apart too. However, we did have to attach carpet stair runners vertically to the entire top surface because the carpeted squares that are Velcro'd on each step were too small. Both our dogs' nails kept slipping on the plastic edges both front and sides of the steps, and this scared our oldest one off, especially when it caused her to slip and fall off the 3rd step while ascending. It was a bit of a headache to find thin but soft carpet stair runners that could be trimmed without fraying, could bend nicely to form over the stair steps, and figure out how to get them to actually stick well to HDPE plastic. I still don't know what will hold it permanently, but for now they are holding after buying a roll of double sided tape for that kind of plastic. We left the carpet squares that came with it in place so there would be no dip. We covered each step separately, then each of the little vertical walls between each step, and it still snapped together perfectly and the friction of the tight fit holds the carpet pieces like a pro. It looks really nice too and matches our blue comforter.Too bad they don't do a better job creating a non-slip surface all the way around the edges. Plastic and dog nails don't play nice, even if the plastic surface is roughened up if causes slippage with nails. But it was worth it once we added the carpet. These almost weren't tall enough. We would rather have had another 2-3" of height without sacrificing even 1/10th of an inch of the stair depth, but these still work. Any shorter and it would have been a bust. The most important features were the height and the stair depth, and these were the only stairs to meet those features.

Love this, have the two step and my dog uses it easy, was worried about three steps, but with a little coaching on the first four tries, she made it and now uses them easily. Great invention, love the carpet and they are removable. Easy to assemble, did need a hammer, but it is very sturdy. I’ve had the two step for about 4 years and there is no wear n tear, still sturdy and will last a long time. My Yorkshire weighs about 12 pounds and has trick knees, but she can climb the three step easily and can now reach the bed easily.

I saw the pic of a pug in the product desciption and believed it was meant for small canines but that's not the case. It's a made in China product and after assembly fails to convince me that it can be used for pets upto 150 pounds. The components do not fit as snugly to make me confident of its longevity. Although the mentioned width is 16 inches but the effective width that your fur baby can use is 12 1/2 inches max. There is an extra wide option of this product available but it's priced exorbitantly. I got this because the previous steps had mere distance between The steps and my fur son had to jump up but he still is jumping on this one as the effective width of this is quite less. If he is able to use this with ease in the future I shall edit and improve my review. The overall look of the product is ok hence giving 3 ⛤s. If you have an active fur child like mine think and rethink before buying.

Recently adopted a small dog.The bed I sleep in has a very large box spring with a mattress on top. It's a rather high jump for the dog to get into the bed.Kind of fought with the idea of buying these steps. Wasn't certain the dog would actually use it or I could train her to walk up it.With Amazon's liberal return policy, I took the gamble and made the purchase.Putting these stairs together was a bit confusing. The instructions are very good, but there are letters scattered all over each plastic piece so one doesn't really know if they have the right part or not. It certainly took me a bit longer to sort through the confusion and assemble these stairs properly. Not a huge complaint. Still took under 15 minutes. Each part snaps into the other with no hardware needed. The steps are lightweight and seem durable. They are a bit large, however, for a small bedroom. What astonished me is that it took me only two tries to get the dog to use the stairs. Once she figured it out, she was going up and down on her own. To this day, the stairs are her access point to my bed. It's so cool to see her run into the room and up the steps without any effort.I would highly recommend these stairs

I purchased the Pet Gear Easy Step III (up to 150 lbs.) for my mixed breed girl (Basset x Rottweiler, 60 lbs.) as I feared she would injure herself jumping on and off my bed; she has the long Basset body and short, stubby bowed legs so I was worried about potential musculoskeletal injuries. These stairs are exactly what she needed! Perfect height for my bed, easy for her to use considering her elongated gait, simple to put together, and flawlessly stable on my hardwood floor (no wobbling). She also learned how to use them in less than 2 minutes using treats as a training reward. In addition, the Amazon price for this product was fantastic; all in all, a very happy Amazon customer.

My 3 cats absolutely love these steps!I purchased the 3-step Pet Gear Easy Step when one of my cats injured her right hind leg. I have it placed next to my bed (platform style bed with a 21" deep mattress) so she didn't have to make the 32" inch jump. Initially, I had to teach all 3 cats to use the steps properly. With each cat, I placed a treat on each step and guided them in the proper direction to go up and down. After 2 trips, in both directions, they were good to go.All three of them love the carpet on the steps (which is removable for cleaning) and scratch on it. Not to mention, they all take turns hanging out on the top step! The assembly directions included were incorrect, well the diagrams/images were. The text of the instructions were fine, but if you are the type of person that needs the diagram/images to make sense of the text, then you will have problems. Luckily, I quickly realized the issue and it was then very easy to assemble. Otherwise, I would have given the product 5 stars. The cocoa color matched nicely with my maple furniture but they are plastic. If your expectations in regards to room decor are too high, you might be disappointed with these steps. These steps are on carpet, so they are sturdy. I moved them to the tile and they are very rocky. So some may need to take that into account.I purchased the Pet Gear Easy Step for a purpose and as my cats continue to age... these steps will serve them well. I definitely plan to purchase more, in varying step heights, for other locations around the house (that have carpet) as the cats health needs dictate.
