It did not for behind my carseat as pictured, but it's perfect in the hatch area of my Crosstrek. Lots of room for the jumper cables, tool box, and all that stuff that accumulates in a car. Love the lid. Very sturdy.

Listed as useful for storage, but:1. The lid is held in place with 2" wide Velcro strips on each side (front and back) which make opening the lid very hard to.2. There is no access from the sides, only the top.

Surprisingly sturdy, good storage and supports 110 pound dog. It’s a little tight in the front seat of a RAV4 but it works. Actually bought a second one and placed the lid inside to make a stronger base to be my trunk junk holder. Sturdier than anything in that category

We got these to go in our backseat so our 3 dogs didn't fall into the floor while they were riding back there. My dogs each weigh 50, 70, 80 lbs and these held up amazing. They fit perfectly and even empty they held up under my dogs weight. We have also used them to store tools, dog food, our clothing and they seem very sturdy and are doing great. Love these!

This is essentially a collapsible storage box being sold as a seat extended. It might or might not work for you and will be totally dependent on (a) the size of your dog, and (b) the size of the vehicle you want to use it in. This extended is basically supported by two thin walls on either end and an insert that velcros into the center; it's then covered by top that velcros on either side. The problem is that the ends, the center divider, and the top are not very rigid and therefore will not support a lot of weight; my guess is that they're either made from thin plastic or cardboard sewn in between the cloth. It's probably fine for a smaller dog, but a large heavier dog will likely cause this to completely buckle; it certainly can't hold 100 pounds like advertised! If you want to extend an entire back seat, you will actually need two of these, perhaps even three. I have a midsize truck and it was a tight fit without moving the front seat up almost all the way; it extended essentially the same width as one-third of the back bench seat, perhaps a bit more. I don't have faith that this will support my 88 pound dog for any extended period though so I don't foresee using it for anything but short trips.
