Exceptionally well-crafted, the Paris pepper and salt mills from Peugeot are traditionally styled of turned beechwood. This particular model offers the U-Select feature, which designates six settings on the base of the mill for precision grinding ranging from extra-coarse to powdery. The difference between the salt and pepper mills lies in the grinding mechanism. Peugeot pepper mills use case-hardened-steel grinding heads with two sizes of grooves; the larger grooves crack the peppercorns in half and direct them into the smaller grooves, which grind them much more finely than most mills. The grinding mechanism in Peugeot salt mills is purposefully constructed with 18/10 stainless-steel, which won't corrode from prolonged contact with the salt. The top of each mill unscrews for adding peppercorns and salt, while the round ball nut can be loosened or tightened to vary the coarseness of the grind.
Paris pepper and salt mills are sold individually and in sets. The mills come in a wide range of heights, from about 5 to nearly 20 inches, and in a variety of finishes, including matte chocolate, natural wood, and shiny blue, yellow, or red lacquer. Care for the mills is easy: clean the exterior and inner chamber with a damp cloth; never immerse in water; avoid putting salt in the pepper mill, or grinding green or pink peppercorns by themselves (mixed with black is fine); and avoid damp types of salt (usually pink or gray) in the regular salt mill. Made in France, Peugeot mills are covered by a two-year replacement policy, while the grinding mechanism is covered by a lifetime warranty. Love the design and quality! Beautiful to have as a set, easy to use, incredible quality for the grinding mechanism. We use a 5 peppercorn variety and have loved the ease to alter the grind size.Unfortunately, after about 3.5 years of use, the bottom portion that twists cracked top to bottom and the grinding mechanism cannot work as the wood has expanded. There was no issue with the grinder, only the wood of the mill itself. It broke outside the replacement range (2 years is still more than most!) but we will still be purchasing a replacement. Despite the break - we are a household that loves our pepper! - we are going to purchase a replacement.

Die Mühle lässt sich prima einstellen und mahlt perfekt. Durch die geringe Höhe passt sie in meine Schublade (auch wenn sie eigentlich ein „Hingucker“ ist). Besitze inzwischen 4 Mühlen und würde keine anderen mehr kaufen.

The Peugeot U-Select models are a thing of beauty. They stay adjusted where you want them. The burrs grind evenly and are not fussy about peppercorn size. I have two and love them.

After using this pepper mill ( u'Select 5" ) I want to get more of the Peugeot spice mills. This works fantastic. Smooth action, perfectly adjustable grind, smooth action even going mid grind from coarsest to finest grind.

Great pepper mill. Feels solid in the hand, very satisfying mechanism and it gets through pepper like nobody’s business. If I could go back I might have got a bigger size, but maybe only having a small amount of pepper in it at a time means fresher pepper, who knows. Honestly it just makes me happy every time I use it, would recommend it to anyone.

Excellent moulin ! Sans aucun doute ! Le reglage de la mouture est hyper simple et fonctionne a merveille - De tres tres fin a mouture pour steaks - Et le plaisir de ne pas avoir acheter une cochonnerie "Made in China" (entierement fabrique en France avec des composants francais!)- Une qualite appreciable et devenue malheureusement trop rare !
