Took a risk and ordered like new. The two sets I received were fine although one plate had defects under the glaze (a few black specks). Also on several, there are a few tiny dimples in the pottery. Not sure if that a defect or just inherit to stoneware pottery. It is under the glaze and won't affect performance. Plus, you have to hold them up to the light and view at an angle to see those so it's not really noticeable. Just wanted to state that for those who may be looking for absolute perfection. I purchased to have a casual holiday setting that coordinates with the all-white Pfaltzgraff Filigree pattern I already own. The embossed pattern is the same on both and looks great stacked even though the white background of Winterberry is slightly more cream vs. the brighter white of Filigree but I like that better than an exact match. With the chargers and linens being used, it has a more designer collected look.

These are just beautiful. The white background is brilliant in color and the red berries and green holly color is just perfect. They are quite heavy and very durable. Just perfect!
