Leaves a very nice finish, and because it was built for lathes, the angle of the teeth is reversed, so that the file tries to move AWAY from the jaws, not into them (as a 'regular' file does).

If you've never tried a high quality file you owe it to yourself to try one. Having suffered with old dull files I splurged on this file for general use but primarily for my metal lathe. The way this file cuts is completely different from my other files. Fantastic tool. Will be adding more to my collection.

Seems like it’s an chinesium import? File was damaged upon arrival but I needed it so I used it. Not the quality I expected.

Ordered this one and the bahco lathe file. The bahco was WAY better in every way. Even the logo was done flawless and cool style on the bahco. Bahco was also more like a 10-12" file where as this one is like 14-16 blade length. I guess ill make a knife/machete out of her! Or carbide scraper..Used this one on the metal lathe at work and was highly ho hum. Bahco worked twice as well for intended purpose.

Waited to do this review until the file had a couple weeks of use. It's hard to find quality lathe files. I purchased both the wide and narrow versions. This file does what a lathe file should. Quality construction, but would have liked to get the handle for the wider file I bought (not available on Amazon). I'm not sure where it is made because it just says "Made by Pferd". This file came from Germany and not via PferdUSA so who knows....

Works very well on a lathe! I've been using it to chamfer edges before parting off..nice and sharp!
