Our contractor was having trouble with installing our Pfister shower valves, and apparently one of these was either bad (or got damaged). We bought this item, and installing it solved the problem. This item is not cheap for a little piece of plastic, but it solved the issue with the shower valve without having to by the entire assembly.

This was exactly what I needed. I recently installed a Pfister LG01-1180 shower kit and this little plastic piece had an indention in it which caused my hot water valve to turn without any stop. In order to stop the hot water I had to turn the handle just right. I went to Home Depot and Lowes and could not find this little part, so when I found it on Amazon I quickly purchased it. It arrived yesterday, I popped open the valve handle and put this little piece in. All is right with my shower now!!

This is indeed, exactly what I needed. But I wasn't sure until I received it because the image displayed in the description is similar to the actual item, but it is not the same valve. The 1/2-Turn Stop Valve in the picture I attached is the correct image for the Pfister 9709800 1/2-Turn Stop Valve.
