I purchased this meter about 6 weeks ago and the only thing that is clear is how to read PH and Temperature. There are other modes to get other readings, but there is absolutely no documentation on what the other readings are. Plenty of documentation and online videos on how to calibrate, but not much on how to read it and what safe values are for say, a salt water swimming pool Yes, it lists pH/TDS/EC/ORP/S.G/Salinity/Temp, but no explanation of what these are. An instructional video with this detail would be nice to have as a reference. What I am clear on is that a PH of 7.2 - 7.8 is the desired range for a salt water pool.

I will keep item as it works fine. Obviously used, no plastic isolator on battery’s to keep them fresh, sponge in cap wet and rusty. Probes show signs of corrosion. Should have been sold as used.

Came well calibrated works well for my pond and salt water pool. This thing is great for quick tests without the need to pull out the test kit.

I just got this meter today and honestly wasn't expecting high quality at this price point. I'm an aquarium guy with multiple tanks and multiple meters because I test a lot and also frequently misplace them. Anyway, I opened and the directions said it was factory calibrated. I usually calibrate PH meters as soon as I get them but figured I'd see how good their factory calibration is. I took a water sample and tested with my recently calibrated Hannah PH meter and got the same result with this. So that's impressive. I tested my reef tank's water with my refractometer and got the same reading with this as well. Likewise with TDS & EC. Maybe I just got lucky but this tested nearly the same as my other meters without even calibrating. Definitely a good value in my opinion. I store my PH probes in KCL solution and the directions for this one does not indicate that you should do so. I'm not sure if that's because of the presence of the other probes or not. So I'm guessing a possible downside may be that the PH probe will degrade faster than usual. But I don't know. Getting five accurate meters at this price point is pretty impressive though.

I have a hard time reading the test strips for pH and alkalinity. Shades of red, lol. This device works as advertised! You do need to calibrate it first, but it's easy. It comes with packages that you add distilled water to. Save these in Mason jars for calibrating periodically. It didn't matter what order you do it in (3 calibration solutions). But, it does need to be 25C or 77F. 5 seconds in the microwave. I use this for the pH and salt (ppm). Instant reading! For alkalinity, I use the 5 way test. Test strip are good for chlorine. I finally have accurate test results to use with my Pooli app! If you have a pool, you need this and the free Pooli app. Happy summer!

It simply does not work as it should. All the readings are inaccurate. Even the readings for the 3 calibration PH sachets (PH 6.86; PH 4.00; & PH 9.18) were grossly misleading. TDS and Salt readings are wrong too, compared to existing tools I have. For example, whereas an accurate Zero Water TDS reading showed 57 ppm, the GISNPA meter's reading showed 698. A regular tap water reading for salt showed 6290. then, after adding some Himalayan Salt to the water and tested again, it showed exactly the same reading. How can that be? Perhaps the one sent to me was defective, but I cannot trust it. It is better not knowing what is in the water than to rely on a grossly inaccurate measuring device.

I ordered this to get a sense of my drinking water quality in my home, which is on a public water supply, and also my son’s home, which has a well. It basically measures 3 things: pH, electrical conductivity (EC) and oxidation reduction potential (ORP). The other readings - TDS, salt ppm, salt %, specific gravity are all simply derived from the EC sensor. You can tell that EC/TDS/Salt all use the same sensor because the instructions show only one calibration procedure for all of them. Despite this exaggeration this device is still pretty good. It measures pH quickly and it can be calibrated. The EC measurement does drift around a bit, but it is fairly repeatable. The ORP measurement capability is nice. ORP is a measure of the sanitizing ability of the water. All public water supplies have to deliver water that can inhibit bacterial growth. Measuring ORP tells you if the water can actually sanitize. A reading between 650 and 750 mV is ideal at the tap. You can also use ORP to determine if you in home filter is removing chlorine from your treated water. If the filter is working then the ORP should be significantly lower after filtering. One thing that is frustrating about this meter is that the display does not clearly show what mode you are in. For example, it only displays mV in ORP mode and ppm in TDS mode. You have to remember that mV is ORP and that ppm is TDS. The instructions are ok, but the pictures of the display in the instructions are unreadable without a magnifier.Overall this seems to be a capable and accurate meter.
