I have two primary uses for this tester. One being for testing water in my hydroponic systems and the other being taking pH readings of my homemade kombucha. This comes with just about everything you will need to keep the meter calibrated and running for a long time. Including a couple of calibration liquids and detailed instructions for how to calibrate the meter. Huge bonus that the batteries were included and installed right out of the box.My only concern going into this being a cheaper tester was how accurate the pH readings would be. Working in chemical manufacturing, I've used some very high end equipment in the lab. So being curious, I tested the pH readings against a $500 Hanna pH meter. While it doesn't show more than one decimal place as the Hanna does, it was very consistently in line with the Hanna across testing of acidic, neutral, and alkaline samples. This was right out of the box with no calibration done ahead of time.The display is nice and big and easy to read with the backlighting. And the inclusion of a cover for the probe end is nice. The only situation I can see this being not ideal is if you are testing a liquid down in a reservoir where you can't get a live reading due to not seeing the screen. If this is the case, a meter with a corded probe would be more ideal.For $28 for an accurate meter that gives readings for pH, EC, TDS, and temp, I would consider this a heck of a value. Definitely has my stamp of approval as a great option for anyone in the market for something like this.

This isn't my first pH tester, but it is the easiest one I've used to date. The instructions were much better than some of the other pH meters I've purchased before. I love, love, LOVE the premixed calibration fluid. Such a time saver. The display is easy to read and bright. It took moments to calibrate and then seconds to take the pH readings I needed. I double checked the readings with pH strips and they were spot on. I only have one quibble and that is that this is being sold primarily as a pH meter, however the display is dominated by some other reading--I honestly don't know or care what it is because I don't need it. The pH is actually below this other measurement and much smaller! I find that very strange and it took me a moment to adjust to that the first few times I used it. No big deal now, but kinda weird to be honest. Overall works well and seems to be good quality so far.

I own several devices for testing water pH, TDS, electrical conductivity, Etc. This is an all-in-one unit that is very convenient to use. It makes testing and calibration easy.My actual rating would be 4.5-Stars if that were possible.GOOD FEATURES:This kit comes in a box with a blow molded insert that keeps the contents tidy and makes everything easily accessible, rather than most products which arrive with everything crammed together in order to save space. Repacking everything is thus more difficult than refolding a road map.The tester comes with pre-mixed calibration solutions. This is a great time saver and assures accuracy. Typically, pH calibration buffers are provided in packets that must then be dissolved in distilled water in a chemically nutral,perfectly clean container.The tester itself has a large, easy to read display. It is far superior to the tiny ones on my other testers. This is a BIG PLUS for people whose eyesight is less than perfect, and why I like it so much.The tip has multiple sensors as can be seen in one of the photos. That should make readings more accurate than using multiple instruments.Both the battery compartment and removable cap have O-Ring seals to keep moisture out.The "Brochure Style" Instructions are set in large type, printed on thick coated stock, and thus very easy to read. That's a big plus!Because of its larger size, this tester lends itself to being used by someone wearing heavy gloves.NOT SO GOOD FEATURES:Because it conducts multiple tests and has a large display, this tester isn't shirt pocket friendly. There's no way around this, and it isn't a flaw in the product. If you need something with a pocket clip, this isn't the product you want.It is rather heavy, weighing in at just over 4 ounces.The unit is powered by 4 LR44 watch batteries, so you'll want to buy a bunch to have on hand if you plan on testing water frequently. Considering the rather large size of the unit, I believe the engineers could have included storage for a spare set of cells.Bottom Line: I consider this to be more of a laboratory bench type instrument, well suited to being used in a greenhouse or other fixed location. It is a real pleasure to use, but not suitable to be carried in a shirt pocket due to its size and weight.
