I normally use Verbatim/Maxell DL, however this time I went for price. What a mistake. Tried Philips on both my Macs and PC with a 50% fail rate the Macs and 70% fail rate on the PC, even at slow write speeds. I don't have fail or write errors with Verbatim even at 8x. Pay the extra, it comes out the same in the end with less headaches.

Bought this pack of disks because Windows 10 required the larger memory capacity to make a boot disk for itself. The first trial effort did not work, but the second one did, so I have plenty of leftovers for something else. Maybe to do a physical backup for photos? We'll see....

There are lots of projects I make that are too large for a normal DVD-R. Get a DVD-R DL and you have for storage.

Backed up a bunch of files and was able to retrieve them. Lowest price for a decent brand I could find for 8.5GB disks.

Started out ok but went downhill very quickly. I say about only 7 out of 25 DVDs worked. The rest was a complete fail or plagued with playback/reading errors throughout despite most of them passed the verification process with DVD Decrypter and Nero (4 failed) no matter which burn speed I used - I normally burnt these at 6x. I suppose if you want to purchase some quality reliable Dual Layer DVDs you may need to spend a little more. For example: Go with Verbatim or Sony. I can't imagine either of them being just as bad or worse than these, very disappointed in Philips.

Received way ahead of scheduled date. Product was packaged and nicely protected in the carton. This is the first I was using DL disks. I was copying data disks with latest version of Ashampoo Burning Studio and each disk took an eternity: the straight disc-at-once took approximately 1/2 an hour per disk and the modified copy took very close to an hour. In spite of that eternity to burn, the result was just perfect copies.
