This didn’t work out for me because it didn’t seem to connect with my MacBook Air. It plugged in fine, but when I hooked my phone to it in the USB port and my external hard drive, they didn’t even show up. The phone didn’t show that it was plugged in and that it was charging or anything. Then I put my old hub Port back in and everything worked. I’m not sure about the connection. It was a C plug, but it still did not work. The cord was kind of long as well which I don’t really need it that long. And it seemed pretty durable, but it just did not work for me .

I bought this to replace Anker 4-Port USB 3.0 Unibody Aluminum Portable Data Hub which my USB devices have outgrown. See pics for before and after.I have this mounted with velcro to the base of my monitor arms attached to a usb extension that runs back to my PC in the same bundle of cords as my screens and the power strip on my desk.I don't need the charging port TBH; however the 8-port version comes with the AC adapter included. That was a savings over the 7-port version because I would have had to buy a spare wall adapter and usb cable.The charging port lights up blue when plugged in. It's not very bright though so it doesn't especially bother me.
