This item has one job and it does it well. The adjustment knobs turn very smoothly. Ease of use is "easy as it gets". I recommend this product.

The boom holder is a fairly standard piece of grip equipment. The bottom part drops nicely into a c-stand, and the top part holds on to a boom pole. That’s it.That piece is well-built and feels sturdy. The section in charge of holding the boom has a nice, soft coating that will prevent damage and scratches. The entire thing is solid metal inside, and gives no indication of bending or flex. I’d easily trust a very expensive boom pole in this holder.The 2.5 inch grip head is a different story. It feels nonstandard, and less durable than the industry-standard equipment that we’re all familiar with. It’ll plop onto a c-stand and hold stuff, but I would not trust it with anything particularly heavy or awkward. It feels like this piece was included to justify bumping up the price of the mic holder, and I don’t think a lot of people buying this kit will need it.So, five stars for just the mic holder, but the weird grip head knocks it down a little bit.
