the maker serves a purpose but, in order to work perfectly one needs to practice!

I was at first turned off by the low star rating this item has, but upon reading the reviews I realized people just don't know what this is supposed to be like. I owned one of these as a kid in the nineties. It was plastic, made in China, and this one is just like it. The letters don't always align. Sometimes the letters are pretty far apart, sometimes they share edges. If you squeeze the unit like the Hulk it's going to groan in your hand, but that level of force is not necessary and does not make better letters compared to a soft squeeze. It's easy to use and the adhesive is great. I've labeled bulk spices I store in jelly jars, a drone with my son's name and number, the dogs' training device remote so I can remember which channel I have each dog on. I have a vintage airstream we Airbnb and when we first opened it I had my mil bring her label maker over. She had to operate it because it wasn't user friendly and the labels faded after a year. I will replace them with these low tech ones. They will fit the quant vintage effect we are going for and I can make them in silver to go with the stainless of the airstream.

You can’t count on it making a letter, sometimes don’t work properly. Letter can be hard to read. Got to watch color you use, regardless of color of labels the punch letter are always white.I was hoping the letter on different colors labeled would have different color letters when punched!Probably better for a kid to use and play with! I was hoping to use it on labels for my filing cabinet. But the punched labels are worse than just writing out labels by hand!
