Bought this cause i thought this would be better then what we have now. Think i will stick with what we have now. Set it up and it works but mounting the Iphone to it was to heavy for it to stay where you needed it to stay. Good idea just didnt work for me

I use this for my Samsung Flip 5 and it works well except for when I'm using any navigation app. The back of this holder is thick enough that it blocks the GPS signal.

Awesome phone holder. Makes using phone for maps, voice phone calls, music, etc… very convenient while driving and doesn’t block vents and you can angle it to a better perspective than other brands I’ve tried.

So you have to understand what you have here. I see a lot of people complaining about the phone holder. If this is your first mount than I understand your frustration with this. Disclaimer: I bought additional products to make this better...I am not using two hands to install my phone each and every time I enter and exit my vehicle. Instead, I purchased a magsafe magnetic charger as well. With most of the phone holders these days they use a ball joint system, (and funny enough, this one uses two). This is similar to what you might see on a camera system for maneuverability. I have several items like this I have purchased over the years and they will all work on the end of this mount. For this setup I purchased this amazon product: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BS46NFTL?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details Now I have no inclination of using that horrible 3m tape idea and especially not covering up my air vent, (which is why I assume most of us went with this option). but, what you notice is the application of the ball joint again. I will just put that charger on this mount. Run the wire, (the only downside in my opinion) and be able to just place my phone up there. Just in case some are wondering; I own a Samsung Galaxy s23 so I needed to purchase a phone case that supports that. I went with this, (also on amazon): https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BTS2GNWC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1Key-points that make this much better than alternatives:1. This is all metal and as long as you don't unscrew it all the way on the top ball joint, (I'm not even sure if you can do this), it should last you forever.2. Yes, the phone holder is terrible and for the price anything else could have been done, (outside of an actual charger, that would raise the price almost double from what I have researched).3. When you look at how smartly this was made you realize you can manipulate and maneuver this thing anyway you want because it can be tightened in multiple variants unlike other I have seen that require a certain method of clamping. This is due to the additional joint up top.
