I’m returning. There is something wrong with the left channel audio. I bought a used turntable needle that came with it sounds fine. This one sounds horrendous!

Okay, wow... Was just looking for a cheap stylus for some of my older/rougher shape records, and I must admit, was absolutely shocked at how well this did. I can rant on about warmth or tracking or anything else, but at this price, it should be irrelevant...Except it's not. It tracks better than my ridiculous carts, the sound detail is *almost* as good, and brought back my "throwaway" cart. This thing has no right to be this competent, let alone impressive, at what they're charging for it. Yet it delivers.

I recently purchased (for not much) a Technics SL-Q200 turntable (on the ubiquitous online e-auction venue) upon an Amazon review recommendation that an older used turntable is a better choice (MUCH better specs) than even the much more expensive basic "audiophile" turntables. His review was of a new belt drive USB turntable with a fixed magnetic cartridge, while OK for what it was, was nowhere near the quality of what is available, if you know what you are looking for, search diligently and are careful (there can be some bad deals out there!)This stylus was to replace the broken stylus of the Audio Technica AT112EP (T4P P-Mount) Cartridge which came with the used Technics turntable, which I knew had the cartridge but needed a stylus. My first search came up with 2 other very similar looking replacement styli, but for much more, so, I figured I would give THIS one a try. This turned out MUCH better than expected! This arrived much earlier than I expected and was packaged in a sturdy little clear plastic box (I did not think anybody uses these anymore, only those awful bubble packs).Unfortunately, no specs were supplied save for tracking, which, of course, for a P-mount would be 1.0 to 1.5 grams.I do not know if this stylus has an Elliptical or Conical tip. I believe my original AT cartridge was Elliptical given the "E" in the name. The item pictured on the product page has a large E on it, but what I received did not. No Matter. It fits PERFECTLY and SOUNDS GREAT!I have put on about 50 hours of pure listening pleasure, playing some of my old records which had not been played in many years ( played on a Technics SL-Q2 with a Shure V-15 II cartridge) and auditioning discoveries from the fine purveyors of pre-owned treasures (Goodwill, Savers Mart, Salvation Army). I always thought vinyl was so delicate, but, it turns out, they are much more robust and durable than I would have imagined. When old records are prepped well with a Discwasher type brush and fluid (ONE drop of dish washing detergent/fluid and 16 oz DISTILLED water (what an air de-humidifier collects in it's tray) are played with this stylus, they sound downright amazing! If you are in need of renewing an old cartridge that this will fit, you will not be disappointed (unless your expectations are unreasonable, given what this cost).Happy Spinning!
