It looked pretty self evident from it's shape that you wedge it under the top of the upright piano and it keeps it open a little for better sound, but wedge against what exactly?The only place where there is solid wood to wedge it is against the very sides of the casing, but there you run into the problem of how to place it so that the weight of the wood doens't shoot it out the front of the piano. It's a wedge, with velvet on it, it's slippery, apply a force to it, and it wants to move laterally.It's possible to place the little leg that sticks out, on the inside of the piano, and kind of wedge it at a slight angle and that works, but it's an unstable position and I don't fully trust it. Plus if you lift the board without grabbing it first, or it slips, then it's falling inside of your piano, which is a pain to retrieve.
