The 3 tier Pillivuyt server is nice overall. The plates are small and a glossy white. The middle bar and ring handle seem to be stainless steel in chrome - but I am unsure of the material.I have to say, though, that it doesn't seem like a $110 item. It didn't come with any instructions so I put it together in the most intuitive way, but the plates stand a little bit crooked at times. I would have expected the product to be pretty much flawless at this price range.It's also a little smaller than what I expected and the plates are not equally distanced; specifically the lower plate is close to the middle plate than the middle plate is to the top plate. I do wish the plates had a little more distance between them. Regular sized cupcakes for instance would not fit in this piece at all.Overall, the design is nice, it would fit in a traditional or modern setting, and they are better suited for tea time crackers, bite-sized sandwiches, macaroons and mini cupcakes, etc.Plates say Made in France.Update: I have had the 3 tier plates for 2 months now and parts of the hardware are starting to rust, and also I am now noticing the top ring seems to have some sort of paint coating on it and is therefore not really a solid metal. Parts of the paint seem to be starting to chip.I am going to see if I can return this item at this point, it just has way too many defects for the price point. I am really disappointed and feel ripped off. I can not recommend this product and am going to remove some stars.
